Africa is rejoicing as the release of the 62nd Grammy nominations has brought nothing but good news.
The Grammy academy awards is the world’s most prestigious awards ceremony. The 2020 Grammy academy awards would see more African artists being part of this memorable experience. Ghana’s trio comprising of multiple award winning dancehall giant Shatta Wale, the evergreen rapper M.anifest and super producer Guiltybeatz has been nominated in projects on which they featured, thereby making them nominees as well.
The Ayo hitmaker Shatta Wale and producer Guiltybeatz were nominated in two categories Best Compilations For Visual Media and Best Pop Album for their enormous contributions to Beyonce’s Lion King album. The God MC crooner m.anifest also secured a nod on the credit of Burna Boy’s African Giant album as a featured artist and a songwriter.
The future is exciting for African music and their presence in next year Grammy awards is a clear testament.
So far Ghana’s Killbeatz and Fuse ODG are Grammy award winners for their contributions to Ed Sheeran’s + Album.
